Love it!
I got this for my daughter's first birthday. It's already a big hit. She can't quite use it by herself yet (I have to hold her hands for her) but she loves to just sit while I rock it for her.
It is a bit of a pain to put together if you're by yourself- if you have someone to help hold the bolts on, it's no problem. If you're by yourself, I recommending finding two long C-clamps, a Phillips instead of a flat-head screwdriver, and some masking tape. Put the bolts all the way through, then put two pieces of tape over them so they don't fall out, and then clamp everything (leg, body, tail/head piece, body, other leg) together while you get the nuts on.
I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about when she said her toddler ripped the saddle off. I pulled as hard as I could and it didn't budge. The screws are good size wood-screws, they aren't going anywhere.
It's not quite as big as it looks in the picture, which is a plus if you're getting it for a little kid- and bigger kids can just put their feet on the ground instead of the rails, so not really a negative.
I am so thrilled to have such a quality rocking horse that I can use for all of my kids and hopefully some grandkids too.

Great keepsake
This rocking horse was easy to put together and is very sturdy. We hope to have this as a memento of our son's childhood for a long time.

Not meant for a one year old.
We were looking for a friendly rocking horse our little one could grow with. This Classic Wood Rocking Horse age range was 12-24 months. We purchased for a year birthday. This horse is not for anyone younger than 2 years. The seat is very narrow and hard, the length from seat to base is measured for a giant. Our little one is in the 95th percentile in height and is months from reaching the base. I think there are better rocking horses out there. The only thing positive, it's attractive.

Radio Flyer Rocking Horse.
Kid loves it. Horrible directions on putting it together. Old school doesn't have to mean old instructions. They ought to number the parts. IT would make it easier. However, the grin on the kids face when going for that first ride makes it all worthwhile.
